Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford EV sales vs Tesla

Ford sold 62,000 EVs in 2023. Ford sold 61,000 EVs in 2022. An increase of 1.6% YOY.

Tesla sold 1.3 million EVs in 2022. Tesla sold an average of 430,000 EVs per quarter in 2023. Wholly cow. It will be over 1.7 million units this year.

Farley claimed that Ford will produce 2 million EV per year my 2026. This is only a dream.

I think Ford will shutdown EV business by 2025.

You know when a car company is doing well is when people are buying them, willing to wait for the vehicle, will to pay the asking price, and proud to say "I have a Tesla".

This is why people buy Tesla vehicles.

Serious question. Are you OK? Ford quality is in the toilet. Has been for years. Hasn't improved. Yet they have been talking about it for YEARS. Don't give me Ford + BS. Just please give me sh-t that works and I don't have to wait 9 weeks to get replaced. Action please...not skip level meetings. Of you can't get decades old quality issues under control on the ICE stuff, what makes you Ford can do it EVs. Have to walk before you run. Otherwise you just sh-t the bed. Which is what Ford service is doing right now.

So question for the EV bot... when does the sponsorship for this nonsense go away and you start promoting something else?

The real world has moved on thankfully.

EV's are future toiletries. Some numbers we are given in all things can be adjusted to give false hopes and add to someone's agenda. Judge for yourself. Who on earth would want to buy one? Only those who do not deeply research their own purchases or those who just need a quick business tax write off .

When people buy a Tesla, they aren’t buying an EV, they’re buying a Tesla.

That’s what Ford executive management doesn’t understand.

Tesla Model Y will be the #1 selling vehicle in the world this year. This is the future, adapt or die.

Once Ford sheds the legacy ICE vehicles from the lineup the company will be bankrupt. Maybe Model E employees will be able to get a job with Vinfast. Tesla won't want DF or any of his team.

Please OP, this is an invalid comparison.

Once Ford sheds its legacy ICE vehicles from the lineup and concentrates totally on BEV mobility, our sales will be comparable and competitive. This is what the company-transformation is all about. How many times does Ford leadership need to repeat this for you yo understand? The Gen2 Model e products will just be the beginning.

I order to make a profit or break even, Ford must sell at least 100,000 vehicles of that model per year. So between the Lightning, Mach E, and eTransit Ford will have to sell 300,000 units a year to break even.

This is the reason why Ford is shutting down battery plants, cut EV production to 1 shift.

When you only need to make 40 Lightning trucks a day, you should be able to do that in less than 3 hours. But Ford can't do it.

This is why they keep on loosing money.

I've talked to a number of Tesla owners who are not happy with their cars. Some actually traded them in for hybrids or gas powered vehicles.

We lose money on every EV we build, but plan to make it up in volume!
