Well, as we head into 2024, I can’t help but wonder what might have been if P66 had spent the last 2 years getting the refineries to run safely and reliably.
That’s not to say we couldn’t have done a couple of things that came out of BT, most notably the employee initiatives.
Instead, we’ve wasted so much time and yes money trying to fix what wasn’t broken.

2024 will only be tighter margins. Lads, the crazy profit is in the rear view now.

And the refineries are still going to be fixed but now there will be a couple of baby sitters on the board to ensure they get fixed.
Come to think about it, that’s not a bad thing.

I’d go further than that and say we’ve now actually broken what didn’t need fixing and made things worse.
Certainly at the refinery where I work the McKinsey inspired reorganisations have been a disaster and reliability has plummeted.
