Working at VMware su-ked

It was a toxic and unproductive environment where the team I was working with was in a death-loop of conflicting priorities, inadequate technical support and poor quality control.

When I was laid off, I felt I was deliberately targeted but taking a step back, it was for good.

I hated working there. I should've left sooner but my misplaced loyalty to the team got in the way. I literally felt guilty interviewing for other companies and sabotaged my own interviews.

I'm now free and glad to take the severance and go on my way.

Yeah, I know "Hindsight is a wonderful thing."

Kool-aid refills in full effect!

I loved my time at VMware. Out of the 10+ companies I've worked for, VMware easily takes the top spot. If it didn't work out for you, it sounds like a skill issue on your part.

Someone below is confused, lost, and posting in the wrong forum ... then mass upvoting themselves.

A reminder that this is the season to look out for those nearest to you. Mental illness does not have easy answers.

When most people quit or are laid off they close that chapter of the book and move on with their lives.

You seem to be stuck here. You say that you are happy to be gone, but you are on a VMWare board posting to VMware employees. Why? VMware is gone; you're not convincing people to quit. None of your comments apply to the current day.

So why are you still here? For your own mental health, close the chapter and move on.

Did you hate getting paid at VMW too? I smell BS. Sounds like you are trying to convince yourself that you are glad you got laid off. In short, cool story bro.
