Has anyone heard the rumor that team lead positions are being eliminated in 2024?

Been hearing since the guy who was gained after leaving Target to change Wally about TLs leaving. It’s bad off support mangers are coming back look in careers ( new title ), the way we used to operate was better a ZMS won’t hurt either
DMs need to come back. More workers. Las Vegas casino attitude! Super customer service! The longer you can keep them there, the happier they are: the more money they will spend!!!! P.S. alcohol and gambling machines wouldn't hurt either!!! Lmfao! No seriously.
Ok, so another thread of false threads. Team Leads are not going away, that’s the truth. However, expect some tightening up on responsibilities and you’re going to see some step down due to bad ratings. There are some good ones, and some horrible ones, believe me, B’ville knows that oh so well. Wait until after Feb or March to see which ones are stepping down (due to evaluations). Now is a good time to tell your store manager if you are interested in a team lead position. Tell them why you are a good pick and then follow up every couple of weeks.
I heard that at the Year Beginning Meeting they will be announcing that all stores are getting several more Team Leads, not eliminating them. I think that the position will eventually be just like Department Managers but they won't use that title. Walmart will not admit a mistake.
It's a failed program. There is nobody for them to lead. They are just DMs with cr-ppier hours and more depts. What TAs some TLs get are in OPD. Way to many chiefs and no Indians. If they are not going to rollback to the DM structure then just make TL the Indians and the Coaches can run the area as they see fit. Bring back some support mgrs for the evening and call it GWP2.0..

Some of our TL’s are good and some are awful. I swear some just walk around doing absolutely nothing. We have a lead overnight who just walks up and down action alley all night giving orders and FaceTiming on her phone.

I wish it was true but that just added a new TL position in November. Just does not add you to me. Then again when they did the Co manager purge some time ago they promoted our assistant to a CO and 1 month later he got let go when they purged out Cos
Team Leads are not going anywhere. Accept it. Move on with your life
They don't really need TLs, stores was better with DMs but I don't see them coming back. Probably be Coaches with some support mgrs and everyone else will put out fires all day. Dept ownership is a thing of the past.
And who is taking the team leads place?
