Genuine question as I’ve worked upstream my whole career. URC is gutted. EMRE still exists? Is there equipment in Clinton that we use and can’t move?

Because it takes 20 years to do anything at XOM. Even close a useless building, doing useless work.
Clinton will continue to slowly die by attrition and then what’s left will be absorbed by other groups and locations.
EMRE (Engineering) has been absorbed by US to backfill for loss of talent since BTC can’t do the critical work and everyone else got PIPed or retired. It’s now called EMTEC.
LCS is a joke that is not scalable or able to produce a profit without tax payer subsidies.
Will be closed to achieve 6 billion in efficiencies
Only equipment being used now are the coffee machines . Just burning money keeping the lights on now….
I’ve been in PO&T my whole career, almost 15 years. We’ve given tours and presentations to all the top dogs throughout that time and every time we do, it always ends with the same conversation. We are only 1 of 2 oil companies on earth doing their own in house lubricants research and testing. Every other company uses a third party. And regardless of what anyone on this page thinks, our top dogs like that. Period. It’s a unique tool in our tool box and they like it. That’s why Paulsboro lasted so long and thats why Clinton is the last man standing. My personal belief is that most of the Clinton office building and lab side will be shut down and the people will be laid off or relocated but I have a strong feeling PO&T, blending, pilot plants etc will still keep going in the service corridor side of the building. I’m sure I’m going to get absolutely roasted for this take but there’s no convincing me otherwise, they like in-house research. Period.
Yes, our brains. WTH!
