Fab 9 had layoffs on 12/12 two years in a row. Offshoring almost all module test even before all the development work has completed. They don't deserve any chip acts dollars.

Odd there was no mention of the IBM collaboration with Japan. Japan is looking to build their own semiconductor Fab and there are quite a few Japanese engineers at the Albany location.

GF is just the worst. Glad to see other opportunities for disgruntled GF workers expanding in the Albany region.

Yea the big take away here is that they are doing this or going forward with it without chip acts money while we sit waiting around with our thumbs up our a-s. Ironically this probably will get them more chips acts funds then they had originally coming. Smart clever move. Must be nice to have leaders that truly understand how to properly do the business side of our industry.

This isn't even the US Chips bill funding, yet which will probably provide more to Micron and IBM among others. GF is getting left behind which it should given it has no commitment to staffing in the US, the focus is on outsourcing jobs to low-cost geos. Until the leadership at GF is replaced the boat will continue sinking.
