I resigned in protest. I did not want to associate myself with a company that made people wait for almost four months about the impending layoffs. They seriously caused a lot of people mental distress with the facilitation of their layoff ‘strategy’. I said no thank you and made sure to let them know on the exit survey.

I'll leave as soon as I get that $1,000 in stock options deposited into my Equity Awards Account, and the stock options fully vests. Just 4 years till vesting, $250 worth of shares each year.
That isn't even remotely close to how the option grant is designed to work, and they vest in a year and a half not 4 years.
I would much rather know months in advance to give me the opportunity to pause on any big life changes. Being blindsided is much worse. Either way it went, you'd be upset with how it was handled.

expect more people to leave after the bonus is paid in 2024.
Get bent chooch
I have a colleague who quit with no notice without anything immediately lined up out of sheer principle. He is a very strong dev though so he should have no trouble landing something next year.
There are obviously plenty of Schwabies who are drinking the Kool-aid still, but most of my coworkers wish they could leave. It doesn't really matter if OP got another gig or whatever. The point is they wanted out.
P.S. - the severance agreement requires the former employee to refrain from disparaging Schwab. A lot of interpretation there, but anonymous comments on this site are the way to go. Ignore the internet id--ts.
I call BS on that. If OP really quit must be for some other reasons. Also, what is the point of virtue signalling on the anonymous board? smh.
Good for you! I’m sure there are a lot of employees who feel the same way as you, but will remain working in that toxic environment until round 2 of layoffs in Q1. As mentioned in a previous post, it is a great opportunity to step up for those who stay.
And it made zero impact and nobody noticed or cared.
