So this filing in NJ has to do with the NJ associates laid off on 10/30. Is that correct? They were laid off 10/30 and are on the books - getting paid up to 02/25?

10/30-2/25 is more like 4 months
Will they close JC data center soon?
Visited a friend who was impacted. To provide clarity on the matter: New Jersey Law states that you must give 3 month notice period and thus the date of the WARN notice is 2/25/2024. Hope this calms some nerves!
The layoff notification was filed with the state in November, and goes into effect on Feb. 25, 2024, according to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification. Under the state law, those workers are entitled to severance benefits.
There seems to be confusion. The layoff was October 30, 2023. This NJ WARN was filed in November for February. This is a month post the January 5th date of the big layoff.
This is a new set.
Since it listed November as the posting month, guessing it is part of the same layoff with the effective date being the date on which severance begins. I checked the WARN notices for CO and TX and there are no postings for Schwab.
Schwab doesn't file WARN in advance of notifying impacted employees. The 60 day period Schwab keeps people on the books is so that they can file WARN at the same time they make notifications. If you're seeing something in WARN now it would likely reflect layoffs of those who have already been notified.
OP great research... Trust is everything!!! We trust you to be transparent EC... When you said we are done with layoffs. Send that work Offshore.
how many people are in NJ?
I added up the total number that was let go under Simon (I used the "Old Workers Act" data that was attached to my seperation paperwork and it was exactly 109. But that is spread out across all locations.
Isn’t that the entire staff in Jersey City?
WARN says.
Company: Charles Schwab and Co. Inc
City: Jersey City
Month posted: November
Effective Date: 2/25/2024
Workforce Affected: 109
I just googled, "Charles Schwab layoffs ," it's the first thing that comes up.
How did you find this information? Did you seek it out or randomly came across it? Makes me curious if any other locations are doing the same.
Yes it says 109 people will be impacted.
