Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Up been derailed as a company

https://www.trains.com/trn/news-reviews/news-wire/union-pacific-has-lost-its-way-analysis/ . Up has gone off course as a rr. The comment section of article is good too. Analysts say too much emphasis on lowering operating $ ratio.

The point was the story is almost a year old….try posting newer information. The CEO and most of the management team has changed. There are plenty of new articles to reference instead of outdated ones.

Story from 1/2023. It is still useful to show Up is poorly managed and going the wrong way.

This article was from Jan 2003. I agree with the statements made, but it would be more informative to have current information and opinions especially since UP has a new CEO and has begun a new series of cuts.

Yeah but the Chief Eccentric Officer believes he can make the UP the best in the industry, all while ignoring the fact that the UP is the worst. The funniest part of it all is that the NS has expressly stated to the investors that they're not focusing on the OR anymore. If the #1 id--t at the UP wants the UP to be the best, then he needs to look at what made the UP the worst in the first place and fix it. He won't do that because then he'd have to except the fact that he's a failure. The one thing I know about Vena from the CN is that he'll NEVER admit when he's wrong. His ego plays a large part in all of his decisions. He doesn't know what he's doing, and he will destroy or eliminate any part of the company to protect himself and his ego.
