The longer you work in MS, the more you lag behind your peers in other companies.
Most of people I know (including myself) landed in new jobs with higher titles and over 20% $$.
Law forbids HR from asking you how much you were making in MS, they offer by street average and that is a lot higher than what you get from MS.
Optimal time is 3 years in MS unless you have a sponsor who will pull you up to an accelerated career path.

I got a new job this year which is paying literally 50% more than what I got from MS…. And then I just realized how bad my pay was with MS. It’s really sad that MS has become a sweatshop. No wonder so many Universities of Alabama student or Georgia State U students got hired.
MS really don't need 80k+ headcount for the business it is doing. MDs and EDs are reluctant lay off anyone or reduce the projects as that will affect their position and their influence. The longer any one stays in MS the harder it becomes outside to find opportunities (as the work is mediocre and some times projects are being executed to just give some work to people or hold on to resources)
People stay 15+ years at VP level are stuck in a job. You can't quit.
This comment about not staying at MS for more than 3 years, etc., is SPOT ON!!!!! If you stay longer it becomes super difficult to get out because you do fall behind others outside of this place. Totally agreed. I am hoping not impossible.
Congrats, and thank you for sharing. I'm still there, and my Mgmt su-ks, so this is inspiring.
