Thread regarding VMware layoffs

On the plus side, our stock VMW is doing well

You guys know that after the election since AVGO is all taken, at this point the more deviation is from $142.50 (whether higher or lower) the more likely hedge funds are predicting the deal will fail right? After all, they'd be losing money if the deal goes through and all they get is $142.50 per share.

So it seems to me that investors are predicting the deal will falter and people who are saying our stock will tank if the deal fails are spouting a bunch of nonsense. If that were the case, the stock price would deviate from the cash deal price Downward wouldn't it

Betsy where are my November 1 RSU? What did you with with them?

She doesn’t know, she is just along for the ride.

More frozen stock… how long will regulatory bodies let stock sit frozen?

Not for long. If deal tanks so does our stock.

Stock price is meaningless if you can’t sell anything

The stock price being up would be nice if they would release our RSU so that we can sell them. Instead, we face a $20 boost per share if the deal completes or a $60-80 per share loss if it falls through.

This is due to investors betting on the small chance of share-holder election re-opening with huge upside. If anything, the price indicates chance of deal not closing is very low. Investors are betting election window would re-open and they can elect to get AVGO stock as opposed to the default cash election ($142.5).

Short interest is at about 2 percent , it’s low…

It's due to short sellers. It may be like gamestop. Short squeeze may happen. At this point, the more it goes up from 142.5$, the more it indicates the deal is falling apart.

If the deal collapses, as Wall Street anticipates, then the stock price will crash.

Don't misinterpret the eventual outcome based on what short sellers are doing now.

At the moment there is no price discovery. There was no price discovery for a long time since the deal was announced. You can't infer anything from the price.

Most probably the shares will be blocked from trading for a long while. People have voluntarily asked for blocking the shares. So legal issues in blocking them from trading.

Short sellers are temporarily doing well as they play the stock up/down from day to day
