Well, if it is important enough everybody will know, 10 mins before won't change your life. if you could stop wasting time means, you could use it to improve your skills that will help you moving forward.
If you still have several year before reaching retirement, I suggest taking some training classes or getting certification to update or increase your skill set. This will benefit you in the long-term.
Thank you Post ID: @1asl+1pqfc6e1. It is helpful.
You don't need to search for or wait for updates. Trust me - you won't miss them as they'll come loudly to your face when the time comes. In the meantime, create a daily to-do checklist, ensure to include activities that you enjoy, they can be great food, watching a Netflix movie, playing games, looking at memes, etc. It's a great time for self-care to ensure our sanity is maintained during this uncertain time.

If you have to ask how to stop wasting time then I suspect you were a time waster well before this acquisition. If you're not going to work for your current employer, then do something to better yourself in the interim.
I'd do it in front of a stage of thousands of customers and media representatives.
I'd launch it with the press it deserves, live media relations, interviews with customers, excitement, fan fare, stock analysts, etc.
I wouldn't secretly close the deal and let CNBC or MSNBC or Bloomberg or some blogger on youtube tell the world that the acquisition is complete.
I wouldn't leave it up to employees to find out about the close of the acquisition from some email.
I certainly wouldn't run out the clock and bury the story in the middle of black friday/cyber monday holiday shopping or on thanksgiving. Although, it would certainly be something to be thankful for.
I would travel far and wide and knock on every door and announce:
“Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition! Our chief we-pon is surprise! Surprise and fear. Fear and surprise. Our two we-pons are fear and surprise – and ruthless efficiency! Our three we-pons are fear, and surprise, and ruthless efficiency, and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope. Our four, no, among our we-pons are such elements as fear, surpr- I’ll come in again.”
Soon
You can keep an eye on SEC filing:

Updates will come on Bloomberg or CNBC or FT. 140 to 180 is like a 15 Billion dollar spread on the total shares. No one will give you that kind of information. Don't waste your time. Be prepared for all eventuality.
The same here ......
The updates will come… soon
