Thread regarding ViaSat Inc. layoffs

In the face of adversity

These last 2 days have been tough for everyone and there’s no way around that.

To our colleagues who are leaving, understand that Viasat would not be where it is today without your hard work, and is grateful for all our contributions.

To those who are staying, like myself, we must face this difficult time together. Not only are we saying goodbye to people we’ve worked closely with, but many of us also feel uncertainty about the future. We must have faith with Viasat and we have to understand that these decisions are to make sure our future is strong.

Right now, we have a choice……

to crumble or to rise.

Keep going, keep believing, and keep pushing forward.

It is very hard to have faith in a company that now values profit over people… a company that has had three large reductions in force since 2020, two of those this year alone. Two rounds of layoffs in ONE YEAR. Not only that, but one team I have talked to has to train their replacements. That’s DISGUSTING. Cruel and disgusting. I don’t care for this new President either. Since Guru has come on board, morale is completely shot across all departments. So keep the faith? I don’t think so

Hang in there folks. We don't want the job search competition right now. It's going to be fine! It's going to be fine!

keep that faith up until Guru needs to justify his position again and you're up next. I wish you and everyone who remains the best and I'm all for keeping pushing forward but do yourself a favor and keep an eye out..
