Thread regarding VMware layoffs

ESPP suspended for long.

Our ESPP has been suspended for quite a while, I guess nobody will cover that loss for us.
Never liked this damn company came from nowhere.

ESPP is a preferential internal stock purchasing program that guarantees employees cannot lose money on this, but can potentially win a lot out of it.

I don't understand how ESPP works. Why wouldn't I just go buy stock from a broker?

It's highly unlikely that you guys had the ESPP program written in your employment contract, to feel entitled to it and be able to state that it was "taken" from you. The most likely scenario is you were only told during the interview of this benefit, enjoyed it for a while and now you feel cheated :)

"What is ESPP?"

If you don't already know, you don't need to know.

How is it a loss? Talk about feeling entitled. What if the ESPP was open and you bought it at 175 a few weeks ago and now it was worth 144? Would someone owe you the net difference of what you bought it for versus what it's worth now?

Where is the 15% discount? Besides I intend to sell them once they've processed.

ESPP was part of our compensation package agreed to when we joined the company, bot an entitlement.

It’s a benefit we lost, no doubt about it.

Has nothing to do with “being entitled”

The c suite is compensated 100-200x average employee salary, now let’s talk about entitled.
