It would be good to get some context. I don't doubt that there are going to be more layoffs in Avaya International and that Germany would be at the top of the list but 450, really ?? That kind of number would cost Avaya 10's of millions and where on earth does that cash come from......?

The UK is another top heavy country that does 90% of its business through the channel so they could easily strip out heads starting with the inept UK MD who has a lot to answer for and has been protected at the great cost and damage to other good folks !

Would be good to hear from a Deutschland colleague because that is a huge number !

Sorry dear, but not sorry.

For so long now, every time there is an employee layoff, who is it that must suffer. Indians and the Americans. Germany business has been a failure for so long, but they always hide and shield themselves with their works committee. So, Indians suffer and take the brunt. The Germans get the pass. When pay raises are necessary, they go to the Germans because of their laws; while everybody else suffers no wage increases.

Their businesses fail, yet they get months off on holiday luxury fleet cars leased to them, and when there are no bonus’ for any other country, it’s because it went to Germany because of laws.

This is Karma. It is comeuppance. Finally, Mister Alan does the needful. He should focus on Italy and Hungary next!

Remember folks, without the annual bail outs from Avaya USA Avaya Deutschland would have been bankrupt years ago. The German leaders have excelled in failure including the current one who is an out and out Nidal puppet and just happy to take his huge paycheque until his inevitable firing with a huge payoff……..
