Anyone with approved Sabbaticals in 2024 know if your notice date or termination date changes? For those with pre-approved sabbaticals, you start them Tuesday 11/7 but what unclear is whether your notice period and termination date changes. Or are you just on sabbatical during your notice period which would be lame since you’re being paid during this time anyway.

I was impacted and had an approved sabbatical. My 60-day Notice Period starts in early December instead of most who have early November. My official termination date is in early February instead of January.
Thanks @1htu+1pnMbuL4 they must have updated terms to the sabbatical agreement or the language in the severance paperwork to not pay out or extended the termination. So essentially as the other poster commented those with approved sabbaticals in 2024 are SOL

Notified Oct 4
Sabbatical started Oct 5
60 notification began Nov 3 immediately after sabbatical ended
Term Date Jan 3 (instead of early Dec)

My sabbatical was fully approved by the sabbatical gods and scheduled for early 2024.
@myd+1pnMbuL4 thank you. I spoke to two HR reps and have gotten conflicting information. Language in separation paperwork states that it starts the day after notice but what is unclear is whether notice period and sabbatical run concurrently or the termination period is extended. Sabbatical + notice period one rep said yes termination period would be extended by 28 days another said they didn’t know. I eventually had my questions escalated. It matter either way but don’t want to sign anything or leave money on the table. I also hope this serves as another data point to those left behind.
If you have a fully approved sabbatical approved through the system, you immediately begin your sabbatical (after you were laid off) followed by 60 day notification period.
I was laid off last year and that’s how it worked. Essentially your notification period would be pushed out by one month to start immediately after the sabbatical (unless something changed)

This is NOT correct.
The 60 days of paid salary and benefits during November and December with no work responsibilities is a better deal than the standard sabbatical benefit.
If you had an approved sabbatical but had not yet taken it, your notice date would have been delayed for the four weeks and you would get paid for that.
Unless you had an approved sabbatical during the "notice period" you are SOL. I know this for a fact because I also had an approved sabbatical in 2024 and I called HR to ask and they unfortunately confirmed.
