Obviously Carl and crew su-ked X dry and bailed, taking the $ with him, But here are the facts:
- HP is now the champ of the industry, but they are not asleep and are evolving the industry and showing HP Print OS with a full set of PowerPacks at Drupa. Google it on your own time, but my point is you do realize that Xerox is still on DocuSP and it can't be rewritten! Print OS is a whole new animal think Amazon vs your local. org there is simply no comparison.
To build, all integration to HP Print OS is free. Xerox keeps saying publicly that they want to tell their own story and not attend a major league trade show like Drupa. They want to engage each client in heavy proprietary customization vs. HP publishing freely a complete stack of connections.
"Think About It" lol - Why would a Customer pay for the cow when you can get the milk for free and publicly from HP. The other guy (x) wants an NDA before they show you their POS 25 year old controller that can't be updated, and when a Customer escalates, someone in India who has no clue tries to fix the code (you will never hear back).
Platforms matter - I guess that's why x tried a hostile takeover oh HP in the first place. BTW Sharp now sells the same gear from Fuji as X does at half the price "Think About It".
