Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Almost there folks. Almost there. I am on the list and headed out the door in about 12 hours. I know many of us are and I want to remind you that you are worth something. This does not define you. No corporation defines you. You own your tomorrow no one else does. Be well and I am sure this board will be "lit up" tomorrow but really...take your time away to breathe and find your Center. Hopefully that is in Him and peace fills you.

Gotta love it. Was 1 week from sabbatical eligibility and I got notified of my inclusion in the RIF this morning. SMH

Love working here and hoped that it would be my final company. I’m sad.

I know I own my own tomorrow and hope I am on the list as I have a job interview Monday afternoon, so it would be sweet if that would all shake out. My Center is me, my friends, and my family — the "hopefully that is in Him" is weird - what is that "hopefully"? Can we stay off the religious thing on here? Your message was good but that "hopefully that is in Him" rubbed me the wrong way TBH.

There is a Glassdoor fishbowl where you can chat with folks from other companies and get referrals — referrals gives you a better chance for an interview. The interview I have tomorrow came from just being on LinkedIn Premium and I put myself as "casually looking" — have gotten a few emails from talent advisors from companies (not 3rd party recruiters). TBH that is how I got my present job at Schwab. You can get a free 30 day subscription and then I do the $39 per month. IMHO it's worth it — give it time, but I started my premium at end of July and now getting more traction - 2 interview offers in one week, but first company had a 0% rating on the CEO and was rated 2 on Glassdoor — no thanks. The 2nd is with a solid company and a good opportunity. It would s*ck w/o severance, but will still consider a move for better pay and better advancement opportunities. Reminder for those not on "the list" — advancement, raises, bonuses will be little to nothing until at least 2026 (that's the optimist perspective), while you will likely be tasked with much more work (and Wurster will be your leader …. oof).
