I'll go first. STS here, got axed today, accomplished software engineer with hands on trading experience, stocks, futures, options. When applying at CS I had offers paying much more, but noooo, I had to be a hero and change the world, right? Took me a few years to realize the so-called "Modernization" efforts are a bit of a virtue-signaling exercises, IMHO. I had a privilege of working with some great engineers, most of them rage-quit a while ago, I was the slow one.
I will not miss the red tape, approval boards, 10 meetings to make a simple decision, obsolete technology and the calls to support it, seeing my teammates trying to save their souls and keep their sanity, I was hired to modernize apps and processes and ended up in production support of obsolete tech falling apart. Sneaky heartless deceitful management. Many of the engineers I met in STS do not know what a stock is. An app or service could be developed in 6-9 months took 5 years and still is not done.
Feel free to add, please be respectful, I'm sure it will be entertaining
