Any way to avoid paying back education benefits if I leave voluntarily?? Please help.

12 months after the end of the course? Where have you read that? Everything's I've read says you just have to be an employee through the end of the course.
It is ultimately going to be up to your manager to enforce the payback. Personally I have seen many people leave before the 12 month payback period and none were required to pay it back. This will likely vary team to team.
