So sorry, best of luck next week. Remember it's only a certain percentage of people that will be laid off. Most people are safe statistically.

My payout would be just about maxed out at a year of base salary. If I get the shoulder tap I'm going to be giggling through the meeting, feeling bad for the poor su---r giving me the news who is staying under the yoke.
Think of this as a learning experience, never stop learning and keeping your skill set up to date. Do these things and you will control your own future.
Meh, the severance package is pretty decent. You'll get a nice fat lump sum to wipe your tears with. I mean this in all honesty, use this opportunity to take a breather, take your wife out for a nice dinner and drinks, and relax. As soon as you start interviewing again and get an offer or two you'll wonder why you ever worried about it. Godspeed.
