Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Lay-off and Open Reqs

Do you thing teams that have open reqs can still be impacted?

I’m thinking if this is being decided by third party consultants no one is safe from layoffs.

Am I right with those thoughts? Or do you think these third party consultants remove (filter out) these teams from their data?

In other words I hope I get laid off but now I don’t think there is a chance since we have open reqs 🤣

Please tell me there’s a chance I can still get laid off.

@qao+1phZ2QyU PLs with less than 6 direct reports are confirmed to be on the chopping block unless there is special circumstance involved. I think your manager is a goner.

I wondered the same… I’m highly paid and “low performing” according to my sh---y manager, so I assume I’m on the block. Which is fine. But then someone else on my tiny team left and there will basically nothing if I go. Serves said manager right I hope…

The last time we had layoffs, a VP used them as an opportunity to relocate his whole team to the VPs location. He fired all the experienced folks who didn't happen to live where he was just hired and then hired locals with no brokerage experience.

It worked out great. Also, as his projects started to catch fire he left for a new company.

A common business practice when cost cutting is to layoff the higher paid tenured reps and rehire at entry level wages. Nothings off the table…
