Thread regarding VMware layoffs

The sale is going through

I think that with the offers we can finally put to bed the acquisition issue. It's going through. I have to admit, I'm glad we finally know what's going on. It was about time.

@qvz+1pg9gbwJ please go listen to what Broadcom actually said to analysts versus what some 'journalist' is publishing as clickbait. I highly doubt Hock would've said something to an analyst about regulatory approvals without the lawyers agreeing.

As a current VMware employee I am wishing that I work for Broadcom soon.

I don't really get why people are not understanding this. Chinas approval is mandatory and until it comes through, the offers are not worth anything. If you are laid off, its VMware doing it, not broadcom. There is literally dozens of articles stating that chinas approval is mandatory. Even if the deal goes through, broadcom is not the type of company worth working for anyway. Just look at the Symantec and ca inc today. If you do get an offer and the acquisition goes through, use it as a stepping stone to run out the door as quickly as you can. Nobody is running around wishing they worked for broadcom. Wake up people and stick with facts instead of drueling over offers from the developed who just dangles a possible carrot and stick. Broadcom treatment of VMware staff has been horrible and so has vmwares management. Karma will bite them all.
