Layoff discussions make company more worse

Hi Jane,

The layoff discussions are driving the company to a different direction.

  1. Employees worked in silos earlier and were not sharing any data.

This issue has worsened now. Every one is scared and not ready to share any information.

  1. Favoritism and Groupism

This has increased among developers. You think this is "TEAM" work. No its "TEAM" politics. People are trying to get rid of any outsiders , new joiners and make group politics. Your "New Way" has gone to trash.

  1. Coming to work. But Not Productive.

People come to work yes. But are they productive ? How do you measure your productivity ?

  1. New Options

People are scared to take new options because of budget constraints and resources.

  1. Still Contractor driven

There was a positive direction to use employees for new and good work. but heard in recent town hall meetings that you will use contractors and vendors again to bring in Gen AI and other areas. So you still don't want to elevate skills of your employees.

  1. Every one is waiting for Severance Pay. No quiet quitting

We don't want to go to new job out of fear. We stayed in this company for years and you have to pay us. you can't just threaten and think we will leave by ourself.

  1. Mental stress

You are creating unwanted mental stress among employees. Our org and team was productive (it was running though not super productive), but now no one is interested to contribute his ideas or do his work properly.

  1. Every one is scared now. When time comes, ready to jump the ship.

You are driving productive , working guys now out of Citi. The good moves and stale stays.
