I have never felt so trapped. I am in my late 50’s only worked for PNR. It’s been a he-l of a ride and thought I would retire from here. What do I do? Exxon will never hire me cuz I have no degree.

News flash - everyone that needs a job immediately is moving to Houston. They are looking for ways to avoid severance.
They say 90% will get offers, 10% are getting the severance.
If you believe that there’s going to be a choice, if you’re already drank the cool aid.
Do as little as possible to get by until the Dec bonus and closing, which is when the stocks vest. Thats all we are getting, so fu-k Pioneer.

@txi+1pc5q0HX The Woodlands has taken a dive in the last couple of years. Flooded with the rude sc-m from cities and states that they themselves ruined and now are here to continue their destruction. They didn't learn a thing from the ideas and beliefs they possess and how it created an intolerable environment. I wish they were forced to return to the messes they made and have to deal with it instead of bringing their disease here! Just rude sc-m!

Are the XOM board members so stupid as to actually believe in the BS that is "climate change"? If so, why would one want to work for them?

Or maybe they know it's a scam, and just want to bilk the taxpayers. If so, why would one want to work for them?

Exxon now has two board members that are climate activists, and they are a strong advocacy within the Exxon. Times are changing on companies that trade on the NY exchange and companies that are up, mid or downstream petroleum. The young people that go to work for Exxon will see peak usage of petroleum and then a gradual decline, 30 to 40 years ahead. Pioneer has some excellent people; great skills and they will contribute greatly to the future of Exxon. I worked in the oil field for 40 years and did two tours in Houston and lived in Woodlands, thank God I never had to live in Midland. The petroleum is a commodity business it goes up and it goes down and people and families get hurt. And unfortunate since it is a commodity there is political infighting on who will survive, and that I hated.

Exxon is causing climate change and now you get to deal with it in Houston. Nastier Hurricanes. More flooding. More swampy weather. Giant prehistoric mosquitoes with tropical diseases. Beaches eroding inland. Pretty soon Houston will be coastal property. Good luck paying for the flood insurance!

The Woodlands is consistently ranked as a top city to live in. For 2023, Niche ranked it as #1 city in Texas and #3 city in US. Ya if you want to live downtown proper or less wealthy areas you’ll probably have crime. Just like if you want to live in downtown Dallas or near. Even though some of the most expensive multimillion dollar neighborhoods are close to the heart of both cities. Some of the best private schools in the state also exist in the heart of Houston. It ain’t hard. Make sure you negotiate a cost of living increase in your relocation package to address doubling or tripling your interest rate to work for these chumps.

I would imagine so . . . there aren't enough oil/gas technical jobs in DFW to absorb us all.
