Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Been here for a year and have wasted my time

This place is where careers go to die. Everyone here is just quiet quitting and I’ve realized my skills have just gotten worse and worse being here.

I’ll have to lie hard on my resume to get another job elsewhere

Previous poster, this is not true. It's a tough job market out there right now. This isn't the job market of a year ago.

I left Ford a few months ago, and it helped me get a new job. If you’re having issues getting a new job, there’s something else going on with your job search.

The other poster is not wrong, Ford will look good on your resume. OP is correct though that takes nearly super human strength to avoid the laziness toward growing a career inside Ford due to insisting it be done the Ford way which is outsourcing to vendors or bringing in people from other companies with specific skills already

Ford does not invest in actually teaching and providing time for employees to learn new skills and stay up to date. So OP is correct, the long one stays at Ford the longer one will likely stagnate in a skill or field.

Ford su-ks. Toxic culture, terrible leaders, constantly shifting priorities. Get out as fast as you can.

Also, never buy another Ford again.

Dude, no one’s resume looks worse with a huge company added to it. Stop being so dramatic, stay if you want to stay, leave if you want to leave.
