If you know any of the folks who were laid off in the last round, do you know if they were able to find a new job by now? I'm a bit worried with the job market being what it is right now that finding a new position might not be as easy as it was a year ago. That's my biggest fear when it comes to layoffs, not being able to find a job for months afterward.

Landed a position at a competitor before end of year with a substantial increase in salary. I feel very blessed and grateful right now. Those of you still looking — never give up. Hope is just around the corner.
I had been applying since the layoffs were first announced. As an IC director in a non-essential role I was pretty sure I’d be a target. In retrospect - it was not ideal for the mental health of everyone, but it did enable me to get a head start. I had 7 interviews during the lead up to the layoff and was negotiating my signing bonus when I was let go. Super stressful 3 months - so glad it’s in the rear view mirror for me, and I’m feel great sympathy for the Schwabbies waiting for the next round!! JT ODonnell and the Work it Daily group have great content on their website and TikToks with strategies to break thru and stand out. And stay motivated. For anyone stressing right now, I wish you peace thru the holidays, the ability to separate work dysfunction from your precious families, and the courage and ability to take control of your future situation in 2024.
The market is TOUGH. I have been applying since the RTO announcement. Not aggressively, but I've probably applied for around 50 jobs between then and now. Had one interview back in June that I was not extended an offer for. Then had complete radio silence (outside of email let downs) until a 2 weeks ago. I am now relieved to have been offered that role and accepted just as of this morning.
I was focusing on remote-first companies, so that market is even more tough. My advice would definitely be to either start applying now, or start preparing for a period of unemployment if you were to get laid off (there are more coming). I was stacking cash preparing to become unemployed after refusing to RTO come January, and luckily that won't be the case and now I have a new (WAY BETTER) role and some nice savings anyway.
Zero interviews! Why did they laye off. I was the best performer in the team?
It is tough but I’ve been able to get about eight or nine interview opportunities after applying like crazy for the past month. Able to advance to the second and/or final stages on some of them. Fingers crossed.
Enjoy December and start the process in January. Network. Depending on role you’ll have something by March.
Market is terrible, specially towards end of the year, nobody hires, they ruined holiday season for 2000 families,
