Quiet Firing at Belk

Have you heard of Quiet Firing?

Quiet Firing happens when managers allow employees to have truly toxic or miserable experiences as a way to squeeze them it. It's a form of gaslighting. This is happening at Belk, and most people are not aware that it's happening to them and that it has a name. But, Quiet Firing is a technique that sub-par companies use as a way to burnout higher paid, older, disabled, pregnant or any other employee that does not fit their current hiring standards.

I was a store manager in the North Florida area. We had a closed door meeting about attrition before I left the company for good. The R.V.P. told us "how do you get rid of people who's sell by date has expired?", "give them a tough time"....When I heard that, I said, It's time for me to go, it took about three months but I found a new job.

Belk is a corrupt, backstabing, and financially insolvent company.

Now, I am told, they are telling managers that stores are 'golden stores'----Yeah, and I have a surf shop in Kansas to sell you....LOL...

Attrition. The act of weaking or exhausting by constant harassment, abuse or attack. Belk thinks their methods are so secret but not all of us are stupid.

This currently is happening to me also. It's called attrition. But I will leave when I am ready. In the mean time I call them out on their cr-p. Especially the fake store manager. What are they going to do fire me. I have already talked to a lawyer about the discrimination and I definitly have a case. Belk is a disgusting company to work for.

I agree, also it’s happening in other companies as well, but retail field is most notorious for that. Just always remember about your best interest in the moment. Usually that abuse comes in phases, they’re trying to get rid of you aggressively, but if you just tolerate it ( you may have no job offer at this moment, but rent is due) , soon they going to leave you alone. Don’t leave because they are forcing you out, leave for a better job.

This is not quiet firing at Belk. I like to see the shock and surprise from incompetent RVPs and clueless store managers when they get their pink slips at the office! It is should be “Did you get the memo” they sent out at your morning store meeting? Ain’t that truth?
