Joined citi 2 years back. My first observation- a) overrated MD and Director roles b) some MDs and Directors roles are solo and no one to report.

10 years makes you a Citi “lifer”?? Spoken like someone who just got out of school. I’ve had 3 different careers and worked at maybe 8 companies, and still managed over 10 yrs at Citi. You sound silly af.
Sad part, I think a lot of Citi lifers (10 yrs+) don’t even fully understand this bank’s dysfunction. There is a reason our earnings look the way they do.
Citi has positive aspects, however, as someone who has worked at other FIs in the NYC market.. the grass IS greener on the other side.
Joined citi in early 2011 and left after ten years after the vax debacle. It was fine, really, i mean sure there was politics and cr-p, but nothing like any other major firm. I thought the senior leaders were doing fine, maybe a bit too much in the dei aspect, but ok whatevs. Went to a smaller insurer/bank in the same department and realized its just as looney. Looking to get back to citi soon or at least when the dust has settled. Where i am now, the work is stupidly simple and im bored. No room for serious growth or any other banking area unless i want to relocate. Long story short, Citi l, with its global reach, may be one of
