I mean the severance package alone means you get paid through the holidays. It's practically a free vacation to spend time with family, no? After that, job hunting probably su-ks but I think most people would be able to find a new job within a reasonable time frame. What are people worried about?

I don’t miss CS at all. Some people for sure but my job not at all.
I was laid off in late 2019 during those rounds of layoffs right before announcing the TD buyout.
I wasn’t particularly upset as first as you mentioned above.
But, then during early 2020, when I was job hunting actively, we all know what happened!
Covid definitely threw a monkey wrench into my plans until things settled down. I was still living off savings until 2021, however, when I did find something else.
Hi, I apologize to everyone on behalf of OP for posting such a tone deaf message at this time. OP clearly shows that they are unaware of the nuances and hardships people go through. It also clearly shows the immaturity. Again, sorry to everyone who got laid off and have reach such childish messages on this board. Sorry, Sorry, Sorry.
No I actually haven’t tried getting a job in this market, so please enlighten us with the reality of how that actually looks, especially with Citi announcing major layoffs.
lol! Have you tried getting a new role in this job market? Your comment is really oblivious.
