Hundreds of millions spent on a tower the company didn't need and this is the response from the almighty one.

"Additionally, Northwestern Mutual plans to "reactivate" the ground-floor space in its Tower and Commons building that currently has a museum-like area known as the NM Experience, Schlifske said.

Instead, that area could become a meeting space that would be open to professionals who aren't employed by Northwestern Mutual, including members of its sales force, Schlifske said. It could also provide space for Northwestern Mutual executives to conduct business for the nonprofit boards they sit on, he said.

"(The NM Experience) didn't work out the way I wanted it," Schlifske said. "We need more meeting space off the lobby that people who don't work for Northwestern Mutual can utilize."

Esd is cleaning house at the end of 2023 into January 2024. DG is laying off around 150-250 employees to align to the budget plus 250 contractor eliminations. Blame is on ns and er on prior hiring practices. Someone should ask CM if we could have some of the LV money. Deep cuts are coming.

NM dropped 53 spots in one year and MM increased 23 spots. All is NOT well at NM and DEI is taking the company in the wrong direction.

2021 Fortune 500 Rankings:
Northwestern Mutual: 90
Mass Mutual: 123

2022 Fortune 500 Rankings:
Northwestern Mutual: 143
Mass Mutual: 100

What will all of these unqualified and inept people do if they don't have the backing of WIT and DEI to get them into positions they don't deserve and aren't capable of doing? That is the dilemma NM is currently in. Too many undeserving people put into positions they can't handle and everyone at the company pays the price. Takeaway WIT and DEI to watch them fall on their incompetent faces like dominoes.

NM clearly hasn't heard that "Companies who go woke, end up broke". The financials and current state of the business appear to support that. When the focus is on DEI and llamas instead of policyholders and making money, the entire business begins to collapse. NM better start getting their focus and priorities straight.

Your ignorance on the economics of our business model, in conjunction with this d-mb narrative around DEI and Llamas, suggests you should jump ship and find a job better aligned to your apparently superior skills. No one is stopping you from leaving.

  1. ) Changing comp levels from P's to T's with nothing else to accompany it and thinking people will be grateful and satisfied.
