(Fab8) My manager did the same, asked that we get the self-assessments done earlier than the originally published date. And not that long after module management specifically said things like GFES wouldn’t affect headcount. Here we go again?

Weird. I have been late on submitting mine but it was never auto-submitted. I usually came back to multiple email reminders with eventually my 2nd line manager on cc. And they usually just said submit asap. But never experienced an auto-submit. In fact I know of a person (actually 2) who refused to submit the assessments in recent past years. They are still around. That is weird what you experienced.

My self-assessment for compass was turned in by someone in India last Friday. I had started but never finished before the holiday weekend. I had to talk to my manager about getting it back so I could finish it. My manager did that. My manager said finish it before the end of the week, it obviously getting higher level attention. I believe they weren't due until the end of next week.

There will be no layoffs and up 1300 new hires, oh, by the way, the main parking lot will be closed till spring. Guess whoever they're hiring doesn't need a parking space.

I was laid off last Christmas. My career is now closer to wheat in had hoped. I'm sorry to see nothing has changed for you folks. Keep your heads up and find a better place to work.

The good news is, everyone I know who was laiyd off is happier, healthier and making more money. I'm actively looking but a nice layoff payout would be welcomed.

This is generally good advice for responding to being put on PIP anywhere you work, but especially at GF.

When I remember Tom reassuring us in the last all-hands, I keep fixating on that key word “worldwide” in his statement about there being no planned worldwide resource actions… Malta is struggling, with so much weight put on a development team that hasn’t actually successfully developed anything.

Even if you survive the next round of layoffs, you'll be working at GF. Underpaid and miserable.

@1arm

At GF, if you get placed on PIP it’s a wrap. It’s a death sentence. Doesn’t matter how much more you improve or increase productivity, etc. you are going to get fired.

My advice if you are placed on PIP is to update resume and start applying elsewhere immediately. Don’t focus on getting off PIP, focus on finding a new job ASAP

Thanks GF for giving your employees another stress-free holiday season (NOT!!). This company never ceases to amaze me in how poorly they treat their non-executive employees!

That’s right they ruined thanksgiving, Veterans Day and Christmas for a lot of families last year.

Remember this exact time last year, the rumblings of re-org and layoffs started brewing. What followed was layoffs the week of December 12th through the 16th. If you have worked at GF long enough, you know another layoff will be coming soon enough. I was laid off almost a year ago, and yes it su-ked at the time, but life got much better.

PIP isn’t the same as a regular layoff

Managers have to submit compass and low performing or PIP employees by the end of the month for headcount action December 13 - 15

Enjoy your Thanksgiving with your families but if your managers have already started acting indifferent towards you, now you know why.

Haven't heard a thing, but managers have been super quiet. And most seem to be working from home.
