Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Impact on teams that are currently short staffed

Was wondering if many teams within finance, tech, internal audit, compliance etc. That are currently short staffed, would there be many layoffs? Was wondering what can happen if cuts are made within teams that are short staffed already?

It doesn't matter if they're short staffed now, they have always relied on contractors and quality be damned.

Audit is lame

I heard unofficially from a Chief Auditor that IA has an approved head count in the 2200s and we are currently under that approved limit. That’s why IA is still hiring even during the layoffs as we are under the approved limit and they did not foresee layoffs in IA for the majority of the group.

Some IA teams are short staffed. many c12 and c13s on some of the IA teams have left throughout the year and wasn't replaced. Plus there was a hiring freeze placed on IA sometime this year.

Those teams will absolutely be impacted, those are the “functions” referred to in the restructuring announcements.

Of cos, no one is spared. All dept will say they are short staffed, as such this cannot be used to justify the cuts.
