Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

"Toast On The Vineyard"? Seriously?

OK, I understand recruiting events, but a recruiting event held only for black recruits....on MARTHA's VINEYARD???.....with celebrities???? WTAF??? If someone doesn't have a job, how the he-l are they even getting to Martha's Vineyard for a recruiting event? Where are they staying?? And for What reason do you need to hire celebrities to lure recruits??. This was an expensive boondoggle. Is there any information as to how many wonderful recruits showed up? Is there any information how much $$$ it cost to hire Wyclef Jean and Soledad O'Brien???
Wow......I can't wait to see what the next financial data dump shows. I'll bet the rating agencies are all afraid to downgrade a minority-run business. They're calling each other saying, "You downgrade them." "NO, YOU downgrade them first."

A minority recruiting event on Martha's Vineyard with Wyclef Jean and Soledad O'Brien. Talk about pi----g on someone's leg and telling them it's raining.

@4ndt+1pCLjBTz Jeezus, be reasonable! It's very easy to dress professionally without being a walking designer logo billboard.

@4und+1pCLjBTz So CEO's should dress like paupers to make YOU feel good about yourself? hmmmm

I think my favorite part is our CEO is perfectly comfortable wearing head-to-toe designer outfits that EACH cost more than my monthly paycheck. Earning that paycheck is harder because of all of leadership's decisions to layoff the people doing the actual work. She flaunts her wealth to clients and employees and can't seem to understand why morale is terrible. No one wants to be in the office, being forced to fawn over her. Leadership only likes to be around each other, so they're building their own special echo chamber at the expense of everyone else. They are having a blast, afforded by the hard work of the peasants.

This happen two year in row and when I first heard about I was in shock how not inclusive this event is. Like if they want to really attract black hire maybe hosting the event in nyc not some private island that is not easy to get to unless your family has a house on the island. Also the amount of money they spent on this would make people heads spin off.

TIAA - where the color of skin matters more than your abilities. Hiring based on merit is racist!

They sent everyone from Individual Advisory Services back in 2012 and 2013. That’s where they were making money hand over fist by rolling people out of their institutional plans and into a Portfolio Advisor managed account.

Geebus. It’s like the time they were going to send all the employees Disneyland for suffering their ridiculous platform conversion (that they’re still remediating). At least that Board had the common sense to squash that, what a ridiculous company they’ve become. So busy trying to recruit a buncha graduates while showing seniors the door. DEI??? Right.
