Thread regarding Western Digital Corp. layoffs

Let them lay me off

These days, I can only see being laid off as a positive development for my future. WD is falling apart with its current leadership and being given a chance to leave while getting paid for it is certainly preferable to staying here and going down with the ship. As far as I'm concerned, bring it on.

“ If they had integrity then I wouldn't be able to do nothing and get paid.”

I hope someday you realize just how cringeworthy that comment is.

Grow a spine and take responsibility for yourself.

If you are for real and not just a troll. As a troll, what sort of sad person are you?

Seriously, I don’t think you have anything to do with WD. You just read somewhere about people holding down multiple jobs in the WFH environment and found it a good hook for trolling.

@2hem+1pBO0IU0 "Because some people have integrity?"

If they had integrity then I wouldn't be able to do nothing and get paid. If the company is willing to pay people to do nothing so be it.

If the government gives away free money are you going to turn it down? Silly question...

Leaders after the split will do what leaders before the split did: exactly what the CEO tells them. Meaning they will fire senior engineers and hire minority NCGs. Cutting cost to pay executive bonuses is, was, and will be the game plan until chapter 11. Executives are doing great. Why change anything?

“Why do that when you can double dip until they catch on”

Because some people have integrity?

Seriously, “I’m stealing thousands of dollars a month from a company while hard working people get laid off” is OK in your book?

If you had actual marketable skills you’d be using them and not trolling here.

Well, if you want more layoffs, you've come to the right place. As the new leaders of Flash and HDDs become accountable for independent P&L, they're all going to take a closer look at what they really need and what they don't. Everyone bragging about how they want to be laid off will get their chance. If you're valuable, you not only have nothing to worry about but you'll be in high demand. But if you're an a-s-kissing work-from-home do-nothing meeting-goer, start updating your resume. And you know who you are.

I multiple WD higher level folks have left for Jackrabbit labs. They probably got a nice package and were able to save some heads. I think there will be layoffs come end of November and less management.

I can only see your layoff as a positive for the company and the people around you.

Seriously. If you’ve checked out grow a backbone and leave.

Your post just screams “I’m a mediocrity”

Are you applying elsewhere? If not you are just gutless. Or a troll.

@ofu+1pBO0IU0 volunteering doesn't necessarily mean it saves someone else

Why do that when you can double dip until they catch on... many jobs there require minimal effort, less than 8 hours per week. May as well ride the gravy train.

If @OP+1pBO0IU0 is capable of landing a job somewhere else, OP would have already done it. OP probably can't even pass a phone-screening.

Why not volunteer for layoff and actually save someone from not getting laid off?
