Are others noticing language like this in their sales organizations: A maximum of two days per week allowed for working from home, with a requirement of spending at least three days per week either on a customer site or in an IBM office?

I’m in sales and I’ve not heard this, but the entire RTO thing is BS. It’s all about corporate real estate. Covid showed us that the office environment is unnecessary for success. It also showed us that business travel is largely unnecessary for success. It’s all about $$$. Since IBM leadership are devoid of ethics, they’ll bow to whatever their masters in the corporate world tell them.
If I see that language from my sales hierarchy, I’m out. There’s zero reason for pulling us into an office 3 days/wk.
This has to be the most backwards company I’ve ever worked for. The corporate execs live in an ivory tower fantasy land.
Sales are self regulating Make a sale get a check (coin operated) IBM could care less where you spend your time as long as the sales roll in. Coders, tech support, admin, etc etc on the other hand will see IBM crack down on the return to the office initiatives especially as 1st q rolls around. Currently Folks are for the most part ignoring the RTO initiatives due to IBM needing to make their 4th q FCF numbers. Come 1st q and even late 4th q the hammer will come down. Not because they think it will make IBM more efficient, but rather to trim the low hanging fruit. Remember it’s all about FCF. How do you grow it Lower costs (mostly labor now a days), or become more productive
