Leave, Dont get married, Buy a tent!
There is a troll here! Constantly spouting some pro Ford nonsense.
Everyone knows that another big layoff is coming. They aren't hiring in LCCs like drunken sailors to grow headcount in the US. Model e is growing.....in Mexico!!
If your aren't looking or getting ready to retire then you're setting yourself up for pain later.
Model e is still growing, I cannot see layoffs in our organization.
The only people worried about a layoff are the poorly skilled who can’t easily get a job elsewhere. Unemployment is so low that you only have yourself to blame if you are not working.
You can't afford a down payment on a home, never mind a mortgage to go with it. If you are here asking, then you are in trouble whether or not you work for Ford.
Look at this web site too for a list:
layoffs[dot]fyi/
- Linkedin 3%
- Bank of Nova Scotia 3%
- Rolls-Royce 6%
- Flexport 20%
- Qualcomm 2.5%
Ford is a follower, not a leader. So, look at what other companies are doing. Especially the tech companies. Are they laying off workers?
Hope it's a man / women type of marriage.
Its 2023 and anything goes, including sending these jobs overseas so easily like they have been doing, then all the exec's pat themselves on the back and call it an American car company...
First thing to do is start saving . . .
Next layoff will be December of this year, when they layoff all the UAW members and break ground in Mexico
I’m sure they will let us know during the special global town hall now scheduled for the 23rd.
Surely with the reorg announcement today a task will soon follow. The longer the strike lasts the more urgent a salaried headcount reduction will become.
Weddings are a waste of money. Hope you keep it small or elope. Remember that half end in divorce. (Not mine of 20+ years though…)
Better to invest that money in real estate long term.
Also if this is happening in soon, I would expect you saved and have the cash to pay these expenses already in a liquid bank account. If you are Living paycheck to paycheck or taking loans (outside a typical mortgage with at least 20% down)…maybe you should rethink your plans or timeline?
Good luck!
You need to find another job. Ford is not likely to exist very soon.
I'm still thinking 2023.....
I would imagine March 2024
