Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

November 6th it is!

November 6th it is!

It will be immediately after the November TG.

JW: Severance | It is not mandatory to give 60 day notice, they can change the severance plan at any time without advance notice. To pacify they may throw in the year-end bonus.

WARN | Under certain circumstances, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act requires businesses to provide notice 60 days in advance of plant closures or mass layoffs. (The key words are "Under certain circumstances").

Key words in the WARN are PLANT CLOSINGS. We are not a manufacturing plant. Does not apply to us.

WARN in California is a bit more strict on employers: https://edd.ca.gov/en/jobs_and_training/Layoff_Services_WARN

Thank goodness someone is out there regulating the capitalist bastrads!

Warn is useless. They’re paying the 60days so they don’t have to give advanced notice. Paying attn to the page is useless.

I have some insight on the observation that a lot of Directors and above are taking time off. However, unfortunately, as you may be able to guess this.... Wait for it. Wait for it. N.... D..... A.........

@fgx+1p9Qoaly. I've noticed this too with leaders on vacations but does it make sense to burn vacation if they may be let go and would lose those extra days of pay?
Or do they know, assume they're sage but won't have a lot of time up after layoffs?

@ave+1p9Qoaly "You are hearing from the horses mouth"...

Maybe it is time to let that horse go, it's been talking a lot of sh*t lately causing people a lot of grief.

Can somebody post more about the WARN system and what that is or where it is and what disclosures are there?

I see lot of Director and above folks are taking vacations, I am guessing they are burning vacation before the event.

Believe me, it is not Nov 6th, it is Oct 31st, I know the leaders. You are hearing from the horses mouth. I decided to break my NDA and speak out and do the right thing. I can't see the torture anymore.

Someone who doesn’t even have any idea of things . Yeah on November 6 , when we are supposed to be dealing with any potential issues and letting new clients know , they are going to do a lay off which becomes the news instead of no issues with migration.

a big shout out to the person who posted the RIA article. Some bit of useful information, unlike 75% of what has been posted on other threads on this site including the OP on this thread. Nov 6th, my Axx.

Could be November 6, even with TG. They're finding that most of the impact associated with TG is to the front line teams and I don'tt think EC will need a many support functions - pms, change managers, planners, etc. Once TG november is over.

Not a chance in he-l it’s Nov 6th. That’s probably the only certainty of dates to scratch off the board.

More speculation d00-d00. Log in each day until you're fired. That's when you'll know. This board is useless.

I checked the WARN system (maybe I don't know how to use it) and it didn't show the 2019 layoffs anywhere...
