The company is trying to make it appear like it is not layoffs, but rather a wash. It was just reported to the investors that 1,000 people will be moved to Houston. I was just asked if I would move to Houston. I said no and was told I would be laid off on Nov 3rd. Five others in my department are told the same thing. My position is listed on the careers page right now as of today.

I'm in Canonsburg. Told I will get my severance information confirmed after the "announcement." It is not like the last. it is less. The weeks of pay are going to match at 2 weeks per year. Guarantee is 8 weeks only. 1 to 4 years get the same 4 weeks. 5 years gets paid 10 weeks and so on.
Last round the equity is kept for 3 vest periods. This one only the Feb 2024 vest will be approved. All your 401k not vested at date of separation disappears, same as last round.
Insurance is the same as severance pay. 2 weeks per year of employment.
This is all per my VP. She said that even her position is on the line if she doesn't move to Houston. Her role will be cut next year along with facilities, accounting, security, sales, D&D, RF, Engineering, pretty much everyone. She told me it is all of Canonsburg on the next round getting notices or plans.
I did ask about relocate and only M2 and above, P4 and above, S4 and above will get relocation assistance and that is based on role. I'm a M2 and advised I will only get $5000 for the relocate assistance. My VP said she was told her level will get 9000 for assistance.
My last date of work is Nov 10. The holidays will be interesting.
So essentially property, sales and finance are all headed to Houston. Southpoint is done. To the 50 or so mgrs, project mgrs, and directors that only hired, supported and promoted family, friends, college buddies and anyone else willing to inflate your ego - thanks. You had a great 10, 15, or 20 years. For yourselves.

Well just got the call. Great working with all you Purple people. It's been a great 8 years.
Why is it that some roles were designated as regional (so that beloved employees do not have to relocate) but actually work regions all the way across the country? How can someone located in FL be considered regional but are assigned to actually work west markets, for example? Everyone should be required to move to the Purple Palace!
Do not be fooled very few people will be offered a bus ticket to H-Town!
LN is sharpening the axes to hand out to Mangers….they will tell employees it was à difficult business decision, pack your Cr-p, your last day is Friday!

Was severance offered and was it the same as last time?
The goal has always been to get rid of a 1,000 employees. Some will volunteer, some will get axed, others will be terminated….very few will be moved to the Purple Palace.
