Had anyone else noticed that while the number of jobs posted for RemainCo is already slim, it seems like a good number of them are being reposted?
Are people so afraid of taking a new job right now that we can't even fill open reqs?

It is ALL a house of cards whether it is RemainCo, SpinCo, or BankruptCo.
So many for the new healthcare company. Not so much for RemainCo....
Also, just for fun I looked up the external careers site. Under 800 jobs posted today globally, barely 350 in the US.
That literally isn't enough to maintain the current 3M headcount even if all were filled. The executives are still planning to shrink even if no layoffs occur. If 3M even wanted to maintain it's current headcount it should have nearly double the jobs (1,500 globally) posted at any given time.
Math below for how I get that 1,500 number:
Start with 80,000 3M employees, as a rough estimate.
That puts a best case attrition at 4,900 people per year.
Our attrition this year will be a minimum of 6,500 people.
Best case, it takes 6 weeks to post a job, get applicants, interview, background check and hire a person for a job, then at any given time 3M should have (6 / 52) * 6,500 = 750 job postings active, again best case.
Anyone who knows about 3M hiring will tell you that being allowed to post a requisition and actually getting approval to hire are two very different things. Based on my experience at around half of the requisitions will never be hired due to hiring freezes and the like. That doubles the required requisition count to grand total of 1,500.
Truly a sh1tty place to work in now. Lots of unfairness
3Ms reputation is burned across the Twin Cities. Between the layoffs, PFAS, news articles and mismanagement, who would want to join? It's just not the place it used to be.
Hi RPO recruiter here. In the external market 3M has a terrible reputation. No highly qualified professional has any interest in moving to a company like this.
I mean, its easy to read the writing on the wall. Why take a new job at a company that hasn’t has a year with out lay-offs for the past 5 years? Too much uncertainty
If you have a job now and have gone through so many rounds of reductions (or are waiting for the payout), or you are moving to Spinco, why would you take up a new role in Remainco?
