Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Walt on CNBC

Walt goes live on CNBC at 11am ET, curious what the topic is (guessing it’s just earnings…) but starting a thread to go over the info he speaks on… I would imagine the workforce would hear about layoffs before he announces it to the world, but you never know I guess

Wow those quarterly numbers are horrible...might not be too late to switch back to green and ran like a successful company perhaps to save what's left?

Tim Hockey would have run circles around all of Schwab's leadership. It's not too late to give him a call and save the ship.

TIL: I've gone over the tipping point for believing anything Walt says. My favorite lie today was that we are keeping the best of both platforms, when i doubt you could find a source that would say Schwab had anything better than Veo, the mobile app, quotes, bots, education, money movement, watch lists, alerts or much of anything. I was waiting for the CNBC talking heads to ask about the stories on advisor and employee morale but knowing Walt, he probably prescreened the questions.
Can you Imagine a TDA CEO ducking questions?

Well, all he said was some workforce reduction realized in 2023. So nothing new.

he went on around 1115 ET. discussed the Q3 update and the larger economy, daily trades, conversion, etc...

the tiny bit regarding layoffs just echoed more of the same... "workforce reductions" and that it will be in 2023..

it is probably going to be more of what was said in the call this morning...which from an internal standpoint means very little. If you listened, they said the exact same thing theyve been saying since july.

who knows though, with the way the last few months have played out im not surprised by anything anymore
