Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Do people leaders and regular managers know the date and who?

Assuming it's happening "soon" do the direct managers and MDs already have a date and list, and if so, how much lead time do MDs or Direct managers have?

"People leader here, senior level, about 20 direct reports. Nobody has told me anything, or even hinted at when it might be. "

Well that is something you should be concerned about.

PL here over a modest size team within STS. I do NOT know. I do not believe my Director knows but above that...who knows! I DO KNOW that a MD in another part of STS is aware of their new assignment but that is all they would share, understandably so given the current climate of to company. Does this help? Probably not, but it is all speculation.

Can we 🛑 throwing s#&t out there and expecting some has an answer?

Isn't is clear that no one knows from all the open threads?

Unfortunately no technical things can't be answered on a stack overflow like setting so just wait and watch.

If past meetings are any indicator for future ones, assume earnings call wont yield much information. Every business unit had their Q3 all hands recently, and it seems like every single one gave the same rhetoric/BS answer. "we are taking care of employees" without any specifics as to numbers, timing, etc.

Earning call will probably be just as vague and something along the lines of "we are working towards our target of $500 mil in cost reduction". With again no specifics, timelines or indication on what is next.

If it makes sense for them to do something at a certain time, assume it wont happen

Direct managers probably won’t know until the day of, unless they’re part of the meeting informing the employee, then they may know earlier. High level MDs definitely know the date, but are under NDA to not discuss it. There will be a list already, but they change so frequently, nothing is final til it happens.

I do not believe they know. I have heard next week is when it will happen. If rumors are true then an outside consulting firm is making all of the decisions and those decisions will be handed down next week. It also aligns with Schwabs release of earnings next Monday when they will likely announce a total number of impacted employees.
