Next Tuesday. We will know next Tuesday. Till then, we can relax a bit. Good luck and take care of yourself and each other. And take it or leave it.

A match?
PL here. Its happening soon. My Director said he could not give specifics but gave me this clue instead. If you figure it out it all makes sense.
"Tear one out of a book and scratch my head. It was once red but is now black instead."
You guys keep over thinking this. In actuality:
Walt: how did the HR planning meeting for the layoff meeting go?
CFO: umm Walt, it didn’t happen.
Walt: why? Meeting should’ve taken place two days ago so the layoff meeting could happen on September 12th.
CFO: most of the HR managers quit.
Walt: which is quicker, promotion or hiring?
CFO: hiring, but we probably can’t fill the ranks till end of the month.
Walt: in that case the planning meeting for the layoff meeting must be rescheduled to October 2nd. Really need everything done soon to meet the EOY deadline people! Snap snap!!!
got it from a director (who is under nda) that the date they have set will be really confusing for a lot of reasons, and after it is said and done and they say why it was that date everyone will go "oh i guess that makes sense"....
take that for what you will, but to me that means its gonna be on a a date that we all think it wont be for some reason (like during impact)
@plg+1p1FqhwN ah so if your workload has been drastically cut or you just dont seem super busy you might benefit from sending out your resumé?
@lju+1p1FqhwN trying to make sense of it. it wouldnt make sense to happen the week before IMPACT but it would make sense to do it before an earnings call to show they're serious.. all of the "makes sense" reasons have been proven wrong so assume whatever day they pick? it wont make sense
besides IMPACT is primarily for AS and client facing folks, and the messaging indicated this would effect mostly internal roles.... it will just be a talking point during that week and not much else
maybe "if you have NEW things on your plate don't worry about it".
next pay day is this coming thursday, the 12th.
Not likely to happen week before IMPACT conference which starts 10/23. My guess is week of 10/27
When is the next pay day?
"if you have news things on your plate don’t lose sleep over it”.
i think im going to lose sleep just trying to decipher this message...
Came out of a skip level meeting a couple of hours ago and the MD implied that he had some knowledge of layoff he can’t share with us. When I pressed further he left something cryptic, to the effect of and I quote “if you have news things on your plate don’t lose sleep over it”.
What the heck? Is everyone in management a riddle master now?
Layoffs are cancelled. Enjoy.
More s#!t
im hesitant to go with any date that "makes sense" and 17th makes sense...
for all the reasons here from pay planning, to it being announced on the earnings call and happening immediately after, and the amount of time everyone will need to recover before the re-org as well.. and of course, real estate planning for the open seats.
hope it is the 17th, we shall see
Well, eventually we are gonna guess the correct date aren't we? That said, either all the MDs are abiding by NDAs or only a select few knows more information, and I'm inclined to believe the latter.
OP is spot on the date. Contracting companies know more than Schwab employees about the date. Any MD with contacts with 3rd party firms do have that information. Enough said.
@uio+1p1FqhwN Yeah… cus if there’s on thing we’ve learned through all of this… it’s that CS really cares about its employees (obvious sarcasm)
Not agreeing with the speculative nature of this post, but if layoffs are further delayed (it’s been 3 months already, get it fu----g over with) it’s because of ineptitude, not concern for anyone’s bonuses lmao
Nov 1 is likely the date. This allows all the people to still be eligible for their bonuses.
It is scheduled for first or second week of November. More info to come next Monday.
There will be an event on Tuesday, here, there and over by the thing. Maybe that, even, is at CHARLES Schwab, or Les Schwab, or Who Knows. But there will be an even on that day, such as drinking coffee or similar and potentially a layoff somewhere at the place over by the thing.
Dec 22 is the last day of paycheck for 2023. So it has to happen by October 20th.
@nia+1p1FqhwN Directors know nothing! even VPs know nothing around timing of layoffs. Everyone is just speculating.
Is this at Les Schwab?
Just spoke with my D. This is accurate
Even a broken clock.....
Everyone needs to accept that despite our best efforts to handicap this, it isn't happening like any other layoff has in the past. No one really knows how its going to unfold or why its happening this way. We are trying to rationalize a timeline based on different corporate events. But week after week even the most rational predictions get disproven.
It will happen when it happens. And its proven out to be a total clusterf***.
Despite the trolls I do believe this is accurate. Good luck all.
The last pay period to get this all on the books and call this year a wash, else it will go on next year's books.
Scroll back and you’ll see a post almost identical to this literally every week
Any evidence to back it up? No? Cool
No it’s not.
