Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Toxicity is accepted at 3M

No employee should have to work in a toxic work environment. Working in a toxic work environment makes people sick. All employers should make sure their employees are not working with toxic managers and/or in a toxic work environment. The 3M executive team has toxic leaders so it is not surprising toxicity is accepted if not encouraged at the next management level.

Well said, @1upi+1o1WXax1.

The issue is unless you belong to a protected class 3M will not abide by their own manual or ethics policies. That's the fundamental issue. It's simply a b.s. front. HR just defends 3M in federal legal matters instead of upholding their b.s. workplace rules. They only uphold those matters when they want to get rid of someone that's threatening or competing against other management. Worthless p.o.s. company. 3M only cares about money and business and not the people.

Incontrovertible evidence clearly shows a toxic environment exists throughout 3M Company.

Managers who instigate, engage, or ignore the environmental factors contributing to depression, withdrawal, or resignation should be expunged from the firm without further delay.

I find it very sad you would post a disrespectful comment in response to a discussion regarding toxicity at 3M. If 3M enforced its Code of Conduct, especially the part about being respectful to others, I truly believe the level of toxicity would be far less.

I can only assume from your disrespectful comment you are part of the problem at 3M. I invite you to read articles on workplace harassment, bullying and intimidation and how working in a toxic work environment can result in serious health issues.

Just got back from an appointment with my doctor, local to the area near 3M campus. I told her I was laid-off and she was glad. She indicated she had other patients at 3M and has heard and has seen what a toll the place takes on them. This was unsolicited. So, if a 3rd party can see it, just from a medical point of view...there is something deeply wrong.

Frankly I think the biggest issue is the toxicity in management/leadership. They should be heals to a higher standard than us rank and file employees. My supervisor has been able to perpetuate bullying and from what I can tell has only gotten a slap on the wrist… and she has a history of bullying. Sure maybe first time offense is a write up, but anything more than that they should be removed from a supervisory position IMO.

Unfortunately 3M toxicity is moving to SpinCo. Jeff L. and others will accommodate and continue poor leadership! Hope new CEO has enough power to avoid 3M toxicity in SpinCo.

Never felt happier, being out of it for a while now.. Toxic pond which detiorated. Lots of poor leadership and decision making has made 3M a place to be avoided. Bad working enviornment, work culture is truly double faced. Dont believe all the hype of the survivors on Linkedin and other social media.
Ruling by fear and making good and sound people to believe they are incompetent is what 3M is thriving on. Move away at the earliest, where possible. Good luck to all.

3M just defends their bad behavior when you bring issues to their attention. No one wants to work here for a reason.
