Do level 58 software engineers get RSUs ?! My manager director and product managers are all from Kaiser Permanente. They don't understand technology and meetings are long and lame. Feels lame to work with such folks. I'm interviewing hopefully will land a new job next year..but just curious if they all get RSUs and we are getting the short end of the stick.

Thanks for the response. The reason I'm frustrated is I've been the scrum master for over 6 months. Learned Excel and did project management work. I am a full stack developer and my architect doesn't know anything 90s graduate pretty much no one will hire her. My managers and Product Owners are all from Kaiser. Looks like nepotism how the team was built up. No one takes responsibility or feedback that's constructive. Folks point fingers and take credit for work that they don't do. They made me the tech lead no salary bump or any other benefits just extra work that isn't recognized. Contractors are hired to fill some roles in my team and they don't put in any effort to code or understand anything they mostly break builds and introduce bugs in production. Sad to work here. I have a few interviews lined up. I need to GTFO!
57, 10000 RSU granted with my annual review.
@1knt+1oyKaIXc wow, why did you even bother posting? You could just answer the guy's question instead of being condescending passive-aggressive. Interestingly enough there are more and more of you popping up on this forum. Very toxic but no help whatsoever. Did not meet expectations.
"Unless you are eligible for retirement" where can I find any information on that please?
Really only two important requirements: i) ability to use a browser (it's the app you've got open right now, except the one you use at work, and ii) find and navigate the Schweb (you click on the little house icon in the upper left.
The Schweb is a magical place that will tell you everything you need to know.
"Unless you are eligible for retirement" where can I find any information on that please? Like, what age are you eligible? Thanks
"Does anyone know how non-vested RSUs are treated if the recipient is laid off?"
Poof. Unless you are eligible for retirement. In that case they vest automatically.

It is possible. I received RSUs as 58 in my first year. However, I did exceed expectations in my performance appraisal that year.
It's possible for a 58 to get RSUs from a KCA but not very common. Has to be for pretty exceptional performance.
I'm L58 IC (not PL) tech, no RSUs here. Just a boatload of unreasonable expectations
Ditto to the last poster, who gave a great summary on RSUs. That applies to tech as well. Generally, RSUs are awarded as part of a KC award. I was a contractor that converted to FTE a while back, and was awarded RSUs as part of my package.
I’m on the business side, not tech, however…. In my experience, RSUs are NOT a part of your compensation package as a 58 UNLESS you receive a Key Contributor award, which typically vests over 4 years. KC awards are more common the higher up you go ( a much larger % of MDs receive them than Sr. managers, and even less frequent further down the chain.)
You’d find out if you’re a KC award winner in your annual review.
Note: RSUs are not to be confused with ESPP shares which any employee can elect to participate in with a portion of their salary.
Are you a 58 asking if you can get them? Or asking if your manager director and PMs get them?
Yes we 58 get RSUs.
