"Strong Rumours, Galway R&D to be decimated, token office will remain."

Ahead of you there, Galway R&D already decimated.
All that remain are a bunch of grads, and disparate teams or individuals, working into remote leadership.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

What do expect from the guy at the top that touts about riding his bicycle coast to coast across America, yet right after such an epic journey he destroys many America jobs (and careers) and moves these jobs to India and Argentina. Definition of Oxymoron, something William Shakespeare couldn't even make this up.

Best of luck to those remaining and potentially impacted.

Phrasing is confusing as the author is inarticulate. It was an ignorant jab from a person who doesn't know elementary school rules of sentence structure. Small minded. Even smaller integrity.

@2mut+1ovC2QD6's phrasing is confusing. Are they saying that Galway employees think the "Revolving door leadership" are self-absorbed, or that the Galway employees themselves are self-absorbed?

Pretty ignorant to assume observations about Galway came from Galway. I'm in the US and I posted the comment about R&D. And Anyone in the US knows the stories about Apple, etc setting up shop via Ireland Government incentives.
What a foolish statement. In fact, the only self-absorbed comment on here is YOU claiming others are self-absorbed.

I feel for anyone laid off (although at this point you should be deep in a job search regardless) but it does make me chuckle to hear how self-absorbed the Galway people think they are.

It's most unfortunate what Avaya has done to Galway. They swooped in and set up shop when the government gave them every incentive. Galway folks sustained countless poor leadership rotations yet percevered. Kept a calm and steady approach when dealing with the revolving door leadership from US. And Middle East.
And now it's just a quick and easy tansaction to send their duties to Argentina and India. Without blinking.
Karma won't be good to Avaya. Foolish.

Inevitable.

  • Revenue is deteriorating
  • Clients aren't budging and walking away from planned upgrades
  • NO ☁️ CLOUD! Not even the 5 year refrain of "just wait 6 mos and cloud will be ready". Nada.
  • ACO doesn't work
  • Channel Partners aren't playing along even with the volume of so called "resources" Avaya is throwing at them. Partners don't care about 'events' 'promotions' or marketing dollars. They just want customers to want & trust Avaya. The honeymoon is over. It's reality now.

AND Private Equity needs to cut to stop the bleeding. Simple. Expected
