$7k base offered, same as my current gig. Was expecting a lot more, worth negotiating or not?

I know a friend who got recently an offer of 9k base plus 40% over base plus 20% monthly benefit .... Do you think it s a fair offer?
Look at other companies to work for. They are leaving SA behind and are treating staff inherently better.
It’s how Aramco is now. Lots of recent expats on just USD 1-2k more than their home countries. Many from lower pay jurisdictions, Eastern Europe/South America/ South Asia etc. In my BL we no longer hire above GC14 for expat positions.
7k is targeting unemployed people, most likely to replace expats between 7 to 9 years to be layoff in this December (ELP).
Also new projects have huge delays and now are requiring personnel asap but they are estimated for only a couple of years, so locals doesn't want to be in this units and expats will be received as cheap as posible.
The ones interviewing you are not the ones that make the offer. The interviewers are probably willing to accept you.
GC13 and 7K means that your offer is temporary until you can be replaced by a local.
Accepting this is shooting your career in the foot. Best to ghost them. Or ask for a GC14 and $14K.
Out of curiosity, what is the job and department?
There is not different global packages, global was created to group and reduce payrolls and benefits.
Those you mentioned not longer existed since 2017.
Don’t wast your time with these clowns.
Just ghost them like they routinely do to others that aren't interested in. Rest assured, if they really interested, they will come back to you with a better offer. If they do not, then you have saved yourself the time and trouble of dealing with them. Sadly, Aramco is no longer a viable option for most people anyway.
It’s global payroll, I am from EU.
Which global payroll? Asia, Euro, Canadian or US? Must be global Asia?
GC14 or GC15 they used to be offered to recognized SME regardless big oil or service companies in terms of 20 years experience.
Now is the time to go cheap and you can't expect to afford the same quality with less money.
The offer is on global payroll. It’s timebound fora week, feels like pressure selling to me. I won’t sign unless they double the numbers on the table. Funny thing is in the interview process I told them what I wanted and not to waste my time. Seems that’s exactly what they have done.
You can't negotiate with fools from the company which promotes strong inequalities and hold weak morals.
My observation is that the 14's and 15's are reserved for individuals with major oil company experience. If your work history is service companies, this will be your offer.
Best of luck.
You will have colleagues in same GC from old payroll earning double of your salary, think about it.
Just let it go. You can't fix stupid.
Too low, not worth it.
No
Which payroll? Global? $7k seems very low to me for GC13.
Sounds decent. Try to negotiate but its hard. Good luck.
