Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

Maybe we should Unionize

Europe is unionized that’s why their layoffs take several weeks to cut through all the red tape. I bet they get treated better, better wages with more monetary increases, have better management (unions usually demand it), and better working conditions

I can tell you that’s not the case in Italy. They’re known for red tape, but pay is not great.

Europe is not a country and each European country has specific regulations ( some protective some other not) and (big) Nielsen is confronting to small national teams that are hardly in the condition to keep the line. Rules in some countries are just delaying actions and the company has more bureaucracy to take care, that's it. The counterpart is that in "protected" situation is little hard to be fiered and very hard to fine a new job ... the job market is not flexible cause when you hire, you as company cannot fire ... thus you are hiring the minimum required etc etc.
Regarding salary and better condition ... well ... hahahahha

Yes we should form a union; demon dave and his cohorts will fight until their last breath to prevent it.
