This is an interesting read regardless of which side of the RTO aisle you’re on.

@ipz+1otHuALG - The f... you stoned, or drunk, or something? That was some weird sh-t you just spouted.
there's a lot more distractions in the office than at home... so I'm okay with events and even casual days, otherwise, its less productive.
Personally, I don't mind going in for events or "on occasion." Daily though is a pain given the commute (expense and 2 hrs per day of unpaid driving to and from), difficult to get work done in office, loss of overall flexibility. EC stated they would approve up to 12% not including those who must be remote due to closed offices. Well, I think the actual number approved was probably less than 1%. I didn't put in for an exception because there were others who needed it more than me, but most didn't get approved anyway. It's all about real estate value and ego. All of the cr-p about mentoring, training, "culture" is just diversion BS. There are many who prefer going in because they live close and like being in a formal work environment. Which is fine, but such folks shouldn't assume it's preferable for everyone just because they personally like going in and want more folks in the office.
@ipz+1otHuALG Hope you don’t get laid off for being too good. But you sound like someone your manager would want to throw out of the team.
Totally for RTO. Personally can't wait. I am ready to mentor young folks again in person. Take them under my tutelage. Under my wing if you will. Enjoy molding and influencing young minds. Teaching them proper software engineering skills. Code complete. The essentials. Almost there. Just four more months. Just hope they don't get laid off before RTO. I was hoping we could do RTO on 10/1 as originally planned. But nooooooo. We gotta delay RTO till January. That's for the weak. We strong. We Schwab strong. We go fast. Real fast. Faster than fast. Fastest of all fasters.
I did my best and gave more than 8 hrs while working remotely. Come Jan, I don’t care and will not log from home anymore. F… Schwab!
I am not moving out either. I’ll just try my best to do the least.
