I have noticed this trend that happens to tech companies and it's now in full swing at Alteryx.
As soon as someone at VP level takes over an organization, they end-up cleaning house and filling the company with other people who are used to the Caste system. From then on out, promotions/demotions/layoffs are all held at the very top, and mostly the people who are used to Caste systems benefit.
Just look at Engineering now, and think about the people who have been laid-off vs who has been allowed to stay, or have been promoted since Mr. Adobe was hired to do nothing but collect huge amounts of salary and stock options. I don't even know what those 900 layers of Caste system are doing in Engineering other than riding it out until they can collect their payouts from being acquired.
